COVID-19 Announcement


To the valued clients of Lone Star Animal Hospital:

We continue to remain open during the outbreak of COVID-19 but we are instituting some policies to keep both you and our staff safe. We also have some options to allow your pet to get care:

  • While we have always had a robust cleaning protocol, we are ramping it up! In addition to our normal protocol, we will be wiping down and disinfecting all surfaces, clipboards, doorknobs, pens, etc many times daily and between patient interactions.

  • We are asking clients who are sick (respiratory disease) or clients who have potentially been exposed or who have tested positive for COVID-19 to not bring their pets to the clinic. Please make other arrangements for your pet to be brought in. It may also be possible to arrange a Telemedicine evaluation in some situations (this will be decided on a case-by-case basis).

  • We have moved now to a drop-off system exclusively. This “curbside care” means that when you arrive, please stay in your car and simply call the clinic to let us know you’ve arrived. A staff member will unlock the front door, and wipe down door handles with a virucidal disinfectant (Rescue).You will bring your pet just inside the front door in our secured drop-off area, and attach their leash to the carabiner (or place the carrier in the drop-off area), then return to your car. A staff member will bring your pet to the treatment room for Dr. Moore to examine. You are free to wait or head back home, whatever is most convenient for you. Once your pet has been examined, Dr. Moore will then call you with a treatment plan and answer any questions you have about your pet. Once treatment is complete, we will bring your pet back to you. We can arrange payment by credit card over the phone.

  • If you need to pick up medications or food, or drop something off for us, please utilize our drop-box.
